Print Save Become a Fan
Yielding, yet not so soft;
Except the very extremities.
And hot, nor yet a-boil,
But willing and purposeful.
Of colour sufficient to stop you in your tracks:
A dark and luminous hue.
An exciting contour,
With singular, imperfect symmetry.
Incidental minor obstructions
To relish on the way
And remind you on each successive encounter.
A sturdy, unbending core
To drive its steady persistence.
A flexural outer envelope,
Allowing frequent refreshing replenishment.
And out in front, ahead, and in advance:
The finely textured arrowhead,
Plump and beady-eyed.
And all this -- to make the point --
A package of unseemly size:
Fulfilling girth, and in perspective distance
A shaft to satisfy.
Last but not least -- by no means: to last is all!
With all this beneficence, and to keep it up as well --
Therein lies bliss.

|Would you be describing a spicy European Salami or a traditional English saveloy here? Certainly not a chipolata is it? Good fun.|
