I am wrong
I am selfish
I am contradicted
I may be right
Maybe not
I think I know it all
I am tired
I am sleepless
So now let me put my armor down
Let me walk away
Away from the battles
To introspect
An era long gone

But the conflict stays
Memories only haunting
To bring back the ghosts
Back from the dead past
The armor collecting dust
Inviting to excoriate
The demons
Once & for all
Battlefield still taunting
I am wrong
I am selfish
I am contradicted
I may be right
Maybe not

I pick up my armor
And walk
To fight my last battle
I look back
In to those sad eyes
Staring back at me
And trace the moment forever
Their shine paling my armor
I try to look for some redemption
But walk away
For I realize that
I am a lone warrior

The battles of life can leave one feeling the loneliness of defeat and the realization that all battles are fought at times .....alone...

Haunting memories of long ago taunting the spirit of today, the "lone warrior". Interesting write, enjoyed.
