Walking Along the Sandy Shore
by Douglas Mattern

Thursday, May 10, 2007
Rated "PG13" by the Author.

Pondering the universe and humanity

Walking along the sandy shore
Amid the ocean waves mighty roar
I looked to the sky that dark clear night
With a multitude of stars shinning so bright
And wondered if anyone on worlds so distant
Is walking on a shore pondering their existence
Or are we lost among the stars and even distraught
By asking if the universe matters without our thought
And yet as the universe seems beyond comprehension

Our most brilliant intelligence measures its full dimension

Thus among the many wonders of this universe combined
Most precious and mysterious after God is the human mind

Yes, very well said! Walking along the ocean shore. It is one of my favorite things to do...

The ocean revives me and takes all my problems away. It brings back why we are here and wondering what is on the other side. More people distraught and asking for help. I cannot comprehend how wide a world it is when I see the huge ocean. My mind does wander at the ocean and floats freely to a land unknown where I'd like to be.

wonderful! (...For me, if the universe come to created our mind and inteligence it is because it needs them to fill it in some way! And for me, the gods are just a creation of our human mind! So our mind is the most precious and mystirous of the universe creation and we don't even know how to use it properly!)
