I think my heart is broken
This world makes me very sad
There are so many problems
No solution to be had

I sit atop my conscience
I wonder of the sight
I can not tell from which it comes
Is it greed or is it might

It makes me so very sad
The pain cuts as if a knife
My heart is deeply broken
To see the depth of all the strife

Born a fertile planet
Consuming embe dded in its birth
Life renewing from destruction
Surround its very girth

One overtakes the other
In a rampant quest for life
Is this but a gift
Or merely an endless need to fight

Sorrow basked in fighting
Violence, hunger, death and greed
One stands atop the other
In an incestuous reign of need
Consumption without thought
Coupled with ignoramus greed

A horrid feast of flesh
Most sleeping in the night
Its as if I have awoken
To a candle burning bright

A witness in the darkness
Reaching for the light
Grief, anger, fear, frustration
Contained within my new found sight
Trying to fit in; Knowing its not right

The beauty of its candor
A muse
A tapestry of pleasantry
The landscape but a ruse
The ardor of the canvas
The vessel for the sight
The impressiveness of nature
Hail fury to its might

The sadness of all suffering
Caught within its grasp
Most walk without ever knowing
That all will come to pass

An arduous road of terror
Paved through out the night
Doused by many pleasures
Stained by many fights

You walk atop the children
You let them die from hunger and disease
You walk atop your wives
Your desires is what you please

She is but a gift
A glimpse at heavens door
Unwavering love standing
At her very core
A constancy in nature
A calm within the storm
A room that man left empty
From the moment he was born

He sat his sights much higher
Upon her shoulders he did stand
He left her holding blame
While painting his image grand

Like a village left in ruin
Spiritually wiping her picture from the earth
A dagger through her heart
Consumed by his own worth

A finger he had pointed
Directly at her heart
He claimed that she bore blame
Guilty from the start

An apple they did say
A tempestuous story told
A lie that had been crafted
Carefully framed and sold

The stories that were written
Passed off as spiritual truth
If he had just looked closer
A wise man; A spiritual slueth

He only saw the difference
He did not see the gift
I think this saddens me the most
A divide; A spiritual rift

He painted her a picture
Upon a pedestal he sits
While she sat on the ground
He praised his logic and his wit

While she was left there sitting
Pondering the blame for life
He tried to erase her spiritually
Was this a blow upon gods wife

Directed at her heart
All would feel her pain
All would feel her loss
None would ever gain
It still makes me wonder
Why he felt no shame

Some cover her with wonder
Others for lack of sight
A garden he enclosed
Guarded by his might

Upon a set of scales
One side the picture stands
A woman covered in robes
A man standing in the sand

Juxtapose the picture
A man standing without sight
A woman bathed in wonder
Clothed in gods own light

A vision he failed to see
He circumscibed her right
He left her holding shame
Bearing witness to his might

Was he protecting or staking claim
His ego or his pride
He covets what is not his
Insanity versus lied

Either way it did not matter
He only saw the flesh
Grossly misinformed
He sadly missed the best

He looked at the picture
He saw but still lacked sight
He chose to see the world
for his gain and the glory of his might

He looked at the picture
but he heard not a sound
for he was so immersed
in the pleasures he had found

He looked at the picture
He chose not to share
The many, many gifts
Found within his lair
Maybe this is why
You don't answer prayer
Maybe this is why
You don't show you care

As a shepherd tends the sheep
A beast behind his brow
He preyed upon the flock
Growing fatter than a sow
Feeding off the system
Their basic needs in life
Procuring many weapons
Adding to the strife

If he truly wanted wonders
His children he would feed
His hands he would unclench
Erasing all the need

The many stones that he covets
Earths fruits became his spoils
This became the object
for which his body toils

A gift worth more than gold
In each upon the earth
A little glimpse of heaven
Cradled in their birth

I sit atop my conscience
I sit atop and stare
Will she stand equally beside him
Will he choose to care

Will he see the worth
Placed upon his path
Will he seek the answers
Contained within his grasp

Will he seek peace
or the sum of his own worth
Will he learn to love
All upon the earth

Will he raise the bar
much higher than before
Will he seek the truth
Embedded in his core

Will he take the gifts
Placed within his grasp
Will he erase the hunger
Will his love out weigh his task

There are many answers
To the questions that I pose
for the fragrance of love is ethereal
between an Orchid and a Rose
