Being who we are; naked and bare...and in a peace of mind undisturbed is not an easy task to learn. But when that lesson is absorbed there is so much observed that has gone unnoticed. This becomes an awakening of sorts! Being connected to spiritual 'resources' and
'divorced' from limitations of the mental kind!

When he is confronted with truth,
He then becomes abusive.
The comments made about his character,
Are hurtful, honest and...in his face!
Others who have done this to him
Begin to see his routine over,
And over again!
Like watching a wheel spin.

He believes he can't be 'seen'!
However,
He is extremely obvious!
And becomes obnoxious,
When spotted.

One eventful day,
In his 'blessed' life...
He met someone who saw his 'type'...
Immediately!
And then,
He admitted that he could fall in love again...
To himself, of course!
With himself becoming a benefactor.
Benefiting himself from that day after.

He was calculating and quick on his feet!
This one.
But...
The one who 'was' the stupid one,
Was that one who took for granted
The power of truth!

Once you have been introduced to truth,
There is no other way to see life!
And seeing things plain and clear...
Is as if witnessing blue sky
Through windows cleaned and revealing.
Free of streaks and smudged blemishes!
When once so much grim and dust
Is wiped away from clouded up
And smoked screened deceptions.

Yet...
People like him,
Living within false illusions
With addicting habits,
Still don't know that!

They don't know truth!
When confronted by it...
They lash out!
Become hostile,
Shouting to show
The depth of just how 'desperately' IGNORANT they are.

And 'all' of the people they have come to despise,
Are those who have 'him' and 'his' best interests at stake!
BUT...
He doesn't see it that way!
Becoming abusive,
To display evil!

When he is confronted with truth,
He then becomes confused and hurt.
Interpreting comments made of his character,
To be too honest and...in his face!
So he decides to throw back dirt.
In disgraceful vindictiveness.

Others who have done this to him,
Prepare for this scene in his routine...
To begin over and over,
And over
Again!
This cycle has long dried...
But he can't see that this toxic side,
Can be him.

He spins out of control...
He believes he can't be 'seen'!
However he is extremely obvious!
With a tongue that can demean.

And in his rebuttals...
He blindly makes more mistakes.
Thinking that TRUTH without 'him'...
Will provide safe haven,
Protect his identity well hidden
And much faked.

BUT everyone eventually sees him,
As artificially wrapped within a superficial mix!
In his heart he knows this...

And the one he thought he could love and trust,
From the start...
Was the same one he cussed out,
For seeing him for what and who he is!
And that for him,
Was too much exposure.††

Yes, I know of him too. He lies deep within all of us...
Powerful poem!
So much truth to be realized here...so easy to absorb when shown in this light.....Thanks for sharing.
