Silence
by Kim Paluch

Thursday, April 05, 2007
Rated "G" by the Author.

How do we remember or speak of atrocities committed in the light of day. There are no words for such things.

In a place
where words are lost or found
there is life still.

A land half hidden
and laid bare for a world
that would not see.

Mouthed words
muted for the masses
and recorded for all time.

Question. Answer.
shouted for the world
in solitude and prayer.

Earthen scraps
crumbling beneath
falling bodies of clay.

Pooling tides
settled in sands
shimmer with reflection still.
