A poem for our soldiers that speaks their heart! |
|
Dear America
Dear America, remember me
I fight on the battlefield for Liberty
I stand proud for the Country I love
I am your brother, your father, your son
I’ve trained for this day. I’m America’s best
I’ve learned how to battle, now this is the test
Of all the knowledge that’s inside of me
I pray it’s enough to keep us free
I know the enemies waiting for me
He’s stalking and watching thru eyes that gleam
He’s plotting his evil, his hatred of me
And all that I stand for. Yes, Liberty!
I ask you my brethren, America mine
To do one thing as I march in line
To bow your heads and pray for me
That God will cover me in His wing
From childhood I called Him God
I prayed to Him in days gone by
I trusted in the words He said
And now again I bow my head
Ashamed, I say, that I’m afraid
I wish that I could be more brave
But evil lurks on every side
The faith inside, it must arise
Please pray for me, is what I say
Ask God to keep me everyday
Protected by His wings of love
Let angels hoover up above
American, my Native land
I am your son and so I’ll stand
And fight the battle
Raging war
Until the enemy is no more
So just one thing I ask of thee
America, remember me
I’ll fight the battle to keep us free
You bow your head and pray for me
