an old man's spring

" Do you need a ride?"

She is spring and I am eternity
With temples grayed by Quietus
I get into the car anyway
Leaving Josh behind to ponder

She wants what she cannot have
what was taken away not by love
but by circumstance and I
I am nothing to her
nothing at all
