Without saying

How does living with seizures affect your day to da life? A beautifull poem about falling and rising as a human being.

Without saying

What speaks for itself vanishes
all that I know is lost
all the person I am is gone
all that counts falls down
in having a seizure.

No memory of whom I was yesterday
not knowing who I will be tomorrow
drawn and drunk without wine
there just lies a body without brain,
as I am not aware that it is mine.

But out of this no-one,
a creature will be born
that like a child will see
– tomorrow or today ?–
with amazement
that water, letters, lives can stream
like the purest music tones.

They fall in a mind
that is crystal clear.

And when I
carefully and slowly arise,
strength will fill my muscles
power comes back into my spirit
words wil form sentences again
like ‘I love living’ and
a future bright as can be,
lies before me

until I descent again
without saying
in having a seizure…

A 'vibrant Dutch woman' confessing this kind of adversity touches me on disparate levels. Bless you for having the courage to write this. I had the privilege to visit Amsterdam when I was in the Army. Magnificent city. And the endless fields of tulips were gorgeous. Keep writing. Blessings and peace to you ... richard
