Minutes crawling by like hours,
A lifetime in a day!
The mocking silence of the phone,
Holding salvation, or despair, in its mute voice.
Rather would I face an army of ten thousand, alone,
Than bear the powerless waiting for my love's answer.
Will she call,
And free me from the realm of dark imagination run wild,
Or do I remain,
A prisoner of hope.

Wow! So many applications to this poem. How about hoping that our children grow up right? How about that distant friend who always seems out of sight? It can also apply to the hope for a big sale. Why don't they call back? Where have I failed? I can feel a poem coming out of these thoughts. Thank you Bill.
