It spreads slowly from the point of exposure
Perhaps breathed in with the scent of you
Slipping over the tongue and down into the lungs
Where it is absorbed, invading the bloodstream
Morphing to mirror nutrients
The heart pumps spreading the sickness to every tissue
Into the muscles which ache with it
Along the nerves till its sweet tingle changes
From titillating tingle to a jingle jingle to a constant jangle
It penetrates the porous bone hiding in the marrow
Digging in and training should there ever be a need to re-infect
Even the fat is not immune
You are stored there and released when energy is needed
The brain that rules the body is hijacked
The blood-born terrorist captures the thoughts
Indoctrinating them with propaganda
Scenarios that make pornography look plausible
Forced to watch Reason through its torture
Till it dies
Hung by its wrists bloody and panting
And lashed bare.
