belly
homelife
blessed knives;
“She is laughing at life.”
Radiating power
of a people’s eyes…
undying passion
as cotton cirrus clouds
bellow out tunes that echo silently.
spiked wheels of rubber.
incandescent—
finger politicking.
charming little girl
grasping at peace, at last?
strife—
masking the white powder
with waterbrushes,
pitiful masters,
militant poets,
Saracens
the righteous harbinger
of pinkish glow,
wildly disturbing
to the timid barbers
pierce the heart
of lavish ambitions
synchronize—
sing to fight
symbolize the yellow sun
with a mandarin orange.
hear the percussion
run like derbies or herpes;
a farce
or a fancy smile that creep
like hardened molasses
beneath the chins
of the angry gods.
laughing all the way
to the bank,
turn
tourniquet
anchor
lacquer
rock steady
lowland girl
mysterious teeth
missing molars
siesta
merienda
…the land failed
to feed the frenzied
fat me.
over-compensate
to satiate
the trembling limbs
deleterious effort of all
are thrown into pots of stew
believing
radiation can reach this town
lost epicenter
found scepter.
“Aren’t you a little epicurious?”
star-spangled nuclear veterans
rediscover
remit your tickets
airplanes are falling
like butterflies…
not letting go
submit
explore the melodies
mark the soles
falling currency
dining with fine white wine
and blind hospital nurses.
the image stands
as imagined by the author.
legacy awaits
but we play on—
waiting for the bagpipes
to ring out through the
streets,
realizing
the tears that can fill
lakes.
floating on the minds
of an orchestra
hell bent on feeling
this experience.
