This poem was inspired by watching my children and students using the internet. I change the title to Enter-net Enjoy.......
I hear people say in an enthusiastic way
the inter-net will set modern man
free like a dolphin in the sea
this statement completely confused me
since when has a net set anything free?
Now my simpleness I regret but where’s the
Freedom in a net?
Spiders weave webs
Fishermen make nets, both are hidden
traps, the spider know all in his web he
keep them in sight day or night wrapped
real tight with a click and a bite
Is it on line or in line, download or unload
where’s freedom in a net, stealth trap in your
lap, net zero heroes, software, hardware
Skytel, email, Intel, DSL
tell tell tell, processing your personal
soulful info no telling where it go
Only the net-maker really know
Now you used to be able to shred it
but now that’s jive, the hard drive
is always alive wrapped real tight
with a click and a byte
Spiderman can pull you up tonight
Freemen freely entering a net
will one day experience
regret, because there’s no
freedom in a net, the fisherman
controls his net, the spider controls
his web, who my friend controls
the world wide web you in, what
spider has you in their web sight
Wrapped real tight with a click and a byte

|Not wrapped too tight. Great sense of humor and word play

|I like this poem. If I were the writer, I'd edit and clean up run-on sentences and hone areas. The thought is wonderful.
