Watching Me

I see you standing there
Watching me
Thinking
He could be me
I could be him
We could be together
But were so far apart
Lines drawn in the sand
That we could never cross

I see you standing there
Watching me
Wondering
Could he be the one
Can he complete me
Make my world
The world I knew it would be
But your world is not mine
And my world is my own

I see you standing there
Watching me
Shouting
Trying to get my attention
With strong words
Persuasive thoughts
A flash of a smile
And a light touch
But I’m gone

I see you standing there
Watching me
Sighing
Knowing that all I say is true
Two people like us
Can never be
Its not going to work
When all you do is stand there
Watching me
