The Person as it confronts eternity

Although a fragment, life embraces
Eternity – body dies as swiftly
As trees that shed their bark, as
Fast as catacombs clothed in darkness -
They emerge from their temporary graves:

Bodies of memory and stone, from crypts
And all the unknown markings that return
To reclaim their souls from the shores of dreams;
They come to assume the garments,
The profiles, and all identifiable wears.

History becomes the profile of man -
Inseparable from his name and humanity;
It cradles the essence of the corporal,
The pond that nurtures his only spirit.
