A short inspirational poem.

I walk in silence into the night
Remembering life’s eternal plight,
And in the calm of a star studded sky
Appear visions of memories gone by,
It’s then I realize that life is more
Than what we make and put in store,
And beyond everything we may obtain
Contentment offers greater gain.

Life is a journey, to be savored each day
In every aspect, in every way,
On this journey our lives unfold
Although its ending’s still untold.

In our haste do we not see
The beauty of the lilac tree,
And the wonder of a midnight sky
Or the gracefulness of the butterfly,
And revel in a mountain view
Or the serenity of a morning dew,
And cherish a moment bound to please
Like the gentle caress of a summer’s breeze?

And on this journey, this path we take
Is how our life we choose to make,
We determine our destiny by how we live
By what we do and what we give,
By the heights we seek and the love we share
And the charity we bestow in time of care,
By the goals we set and the things we say
And the kindness we show along the way.

If in the darkness we should go astray
And miss the path and lose our way,
Or wander blindly into the night
Looking, praying for the light,
And if sadness fills your heart and soul
Then find the path to make you whole,
And search with uncompromising feet
The journey to life’s triumph sweet.
