What if you could understand a person by just looking at them? What if you knew what to expect from them in terms of performance, never to experience disappointment again..

~~XxX~~

Bittersweet memories
Of a night not too long ago.
A night I thought would bring everlasting joy
Instead it brought a perpetual pain.

Tonight,
Memories resurfaced
Flashbacks
Of a night not too long ago.
A night like tonight,
When an expectant Mother goes into labor.

Tonight,
I watch the grieving parents
And my heart bleeds for them.
As painful as this is for me
I know it must be ten times as hard for them.

Tonight,
A baby would enter this world
Like one should have five months ago.
Maybe this would help ease the pain
And fill the emptiness we all feel.

Tonight
I am faced with a bitter sweet feeling.
A part of me aches while another rejoices.
Sadness for a lost life
And joy for a new.
Tonight!!

~~xXx~~

The loss of a human life, especially that of child is difficult to accept and something one never gets over. There is comfort in knowing that in death, there is rebirth. Thanks Jenni for sharing this bittersweet piece of your heart.

I can feel you pain vibrating through each line, Jenni. The joy we feel for another in any situation is often times muted by our own association of painful memories. God bless you and the newborn child.
Take care,
Sherry
