Losing your love after 30 years. And society thinking it was just"a good friend".

Some call it a vacant stare only you know
the truth about where.

It takes you back to your life not the one
you get up for today, but the one before
she was taken away.

A life where a bad day was erased just
because she walked through the door
and said nothing more.

When she drew her last breath you sat
with your hand on her chest.

Everyone said how sorry they were what
else could they do? The words held no
meaning for you.

It’s not a vacant stare it’s how you keep
Her near.
