SIEN (she was the prostitute he lives with for a while. 's Gravenhage - the Netherlands 1883)

Stille once he looked back to her,
her white cap on deepblack
hair, loosely girlish
of sometimes knotted.

The thin tit with which she suckled,
her bony body, where he found warmth
and how she threw out her shoe
at the fireplace, smoking a cigar.

But he did not find a parting word
and she kept on staring
darkly past him.

He only thougt -it is over,
you shall go around again, ogle,
give birth, Sientje, you girl, you.-

SIEN ( Shoo Away Crows)

jij zult weer rondgaan, lonken
baren, Sientje...jij...jij.-
