true experience

like a mad professor with Einstein hair

he came running across a grassy field

with a grand hugging gesture

we smiled like long lost friends

over the years he has been a teacher

often in lecture halls and small classrooms

like flashes of insight my memory processes

our epic encounters that have lasted throughout

my lifetime

of course, he only exists in my dreamland

what he teaches is not of logic nor typical

of my earthbound education experienced

excited to know my progress

he squeals with childlike excitement

“can you see it’, “can you see the colors”?

he asks, as if there’s a clue what he is confirming

“there, there” in your hands and quickly

positions my hands palms upward and

spread apart, and in that instant clear as light

was the most fantastic spectacle of neon blue

arcing between both my palms like current

were 5 strands above and 5 strands below

easily played into wave forms as wrists flexed

and pulsed this colored energy back and forth

a grin crossed my lips delighted in this

newly discovered presence and quickly noticed

the entire scene evaporating before

the chance to further inquire this lesson

and you know…all day,  been trying to

recreate seeing that energy….

Lucid dreams are perhaps those that connect the dream-state with the fully-conscious and are like a bridge where many phenomena can pierce the membrane between the two. The nearest thing I can liken it to is what lingers on our peripheral vision or, conversely, how in a night sky the far-off nebulae become clearer if you don't look directly at them. I love this recurring dream-character professor, and maybe he is a catalyst of these "bridges" of energies that link the two states. Is he a sign, perhaps, that, when you see him, you are hovering between two suspended worlds? I think such manifestations of visible energy often occur where our perceptions of "worlds" collide. Now I'm waffling and playing with ideas... but thanks for the fascinating picture. Do let us know if you come up with any answers! Intriguing and delightful, xx

Our imaginations are one of our most treasured gifts and when we open our minds and hearts to it we are blessed beyond counting. You know the magic of using your imagination and your heart.

No run of the mill poetry for you, M'Lady. Oh no, this is exquisite in it treatment of what is all around is if only we could train our eyes to observe. Delightful reading.

Saw a picture of two atoms colliding with the most amazing display of energy strands that were as long aged as man's life in the universal time but with a perfect light of its own!

Somehow I keep picturing the crazy professor from Back to the Future in all this. Interesting poem and insight into bridging the gap between the dream and waking world.
