The lies surround me
the lies sicken me
those lies haunt me now
and threaten my being.

They threaten to hurt
to cause emotional stress
and anxiety
to create suffering.

The suffering comes in forms
of daggers and swords
the heart will put up a fight
but can never win.

The daggers pierce
the swords cut open
the bloody wound
that has already started.

The blood drips
into the darkness
where it fades
until it is nothing.

Erin,

So sad. Bleeding for a cause can be heroic but bleeding to satisfy another's hunger is unjust. Blessing Always, Paul.
