INSPIRED BY MY OWN TRUE LOVE, AND THE LYRICS FROM A BEATLES SONG...“BLACK BIRD SINGING IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT, TAKE THESE BROKEN WINGS AND LEARN TO FLY, ALL YOUR LIFE YOU WERE ONLY WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT TO ARRIVE…”

I BELIEVE SOMETIMES WE JOURNEY
NEVER KNOWING WHY
QUESTIONING THE PAIN WE FEEL
AND THE REASONS THAT WE CRY

I BELIEVE WE HURT SOMETIMES
AND WE LEARN PAIN’S ONE TRUTH
WHEN WE REACH OUR JOURNEY’S END
PAIN IS ABANDONED SUCH AS YOUTH

I HAVE MY EYES WIDE OPEN
EMERGING FROM THE DARK
THE BLACK BIRD SINGS IN THE DEAD OF NIGHT
TO SERENADE A HARDENED HEART

HE SINGS OF LOVE’S LONG TRODDEN ROAD
THE PATHS WE’VE BOTH BEEN DOWN
AND HOW THEY LEAD TO HAPPINESS
WHEN WE ALLOW IT TO BE FOUND

AS I TRAVELED DOWN THAT ROAD
SOMETIMES MY HEART WOULD SING
AND EVERY WORD OF TORTURED PAIN
WOULD CAUSE A BITTER STING

BUT THE JOURNEY SERVED TO SHAPE ME
TO CREATE FROM AN EMPTY SHELL
A LOVING HOME FOR A HARDENED HEART
AND THE STORIES IT COULD TELL

WE TRAVELED DIFFERENT JOURNEYS
DOWN DIFFERENT LONELY ROADS
BOTH PATHS LEAD  TO THIS DOOR
WHERE YOU CAN LIGHTEN UP THE LOAD

NO DIFFERENCE IS BETWEEN US
EXCEPT THAT I AM HERE
WAITING FOR YOUR TRAVELS
TO BRING YOU CLOSER DEAR

FOR I KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU
WE BOTH KNEW IT WHEN MET
THE TRUTH THERE IN THAT MOMENT
WE CANNOT FORGET

WHAT I WOULDN'T GIVE TO LOOK
DEEP INTO YOUR EYES
TO TELL YOU IT’S ALL TRUE
AND LET YOU SEE NO LIES

IF YOU COULD JUST IMAGINE
THE SONG THE BLACK BIRD SINGS
YOUR HEART’S STONE WOULD MELT AWAY
BY THE LOVE UPON HIS WINGS

BUT NOW IS NOT YOUR TIME TO LOVE
THE TIME IS MINE ALONE
DARLING, KNOW I WAIT FOR YOU
TO SHARE WITH ME LOVE’S THRONE

MY LOVE FOR YOU WILL KEEP ME WARM
WHEN IT’S COLD WITHOUT YOUR TOUCH
IT’S NOT FOR LACK OF OTHER HOPE
BUT THAT I LOVE YOU JUST THAT MUCH

MY WAIT MAY BE FOREVER
BUT EACH DAWN IS ANOTHER DAY
AND AS I CLOSE MY EYES EACH NIGHT
AGAIN, I’LL CHOSE TO STAY

wow, what a story of un-bridled patient love. I admire this write and the qualities you portray. it is a blessing to know there are those whom love means that much to them. well said.

always,
randy
