If people had read the Bible through the middle ages, they would have known the earth was a sphere and not flat.
Lord, the circle of the earth is your chair.
We unwittingly scurry all around your feet and bump into your toe,
And then cry out, we’ve done it all.
We are in so much control.
We’ve sent man to the moon, we’ve achieved so much.
We used to think the earth was flat.
Oh, how much we’ve grown in our evolutionary state.
Yet, the hem of Your garment brushes our hair.
We think it is the wind and didn’t even know you were there.
You decorate the earth with color beyond our imagination.
Yet, we think we have the explanation
Of how it all came to be.
We say….”Poof”….a speck of dust
Grew into this creation.
But, really it is because we are so small,
Our minds can’t wrap themselves around your greatness.
We go on with our conceitedness and write it all down in books
Of how we’ve figured out this dust grew into our looks.
Lord, you are so long suffering.
Mankind does not deserve that treat.
You’ve loved us so much, You sent your Son
To give eternal life for us sinful man.
It is a testimony to how grand You are,
And how little we are in knowing.
The circle of the earth tells the tale
Never ending of what is eternity.
It is no coincidence the Lord’s chair is in this vicinity.
