'Twas the day before the OldSchoolBill’s River’s Edge GetTogether, when all through the CAFE Not a Member was stirring, not even Jose;
Twas the day before the OldSchoolBill’s River’s
Edge GetTogether, when all through the CAFE
Not a Member was stirring, not even Jose;
The Ellen Masks were all hung with great care,
In hopes that Ellen Degeneres soon would be there;
The Gang were nestled all snug in their booths,
While visions of being TV stars danced in their heads;
And WasWife in her 'kerchief, and I in my OldSchool cap,
Had just settled down for a Coffee Conlece,
When out on the porch there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the counter to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Ellen Degeneres & her Television crew
More rapid than eagles her “Peoples” they came,
And she whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, ! Director now, Production Coordinator! now Gaffer!
On, Prop Master! on Teleplay Writer! and Best Boy Grip!
To the top of the booth! to the top of the wall!
Now film away! film away! film away all!"
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Ellen came dancing in with a bound.
She was dressed bright all in Florida Beach Ware
Her Blue eyes -- how they twinkled! her dimples how merry!
Her cheeks were like roses, her nose like a cherry!
Her mouth was drawn up like a bow,
Her tennies all shinny & clean
A wink of her eye and a twist of her head,
She spoke not a word, but went straight to work,
And laying her finger aside of her nose,
And giving a nod, & up the lights rose;
She sprang to her chair, to her crew gave a whistle,
“Live on location from OldSchoolBill’s Café
The Ellen Degerners Show” she said.
