“When I Pray”

I speak the words of my petition

To my Master, all omniscient,

Looking for intercession.

The words I have unimportant

Without Jesus’ intervention.

The incense of my askings

Waft up to the gates of heaven.

There is no use masking

My cries to whom my soul is given;

His love for me is everlasting.

Not my desire, but His be done;

It is not for me to say.

He gave His Son for my pardon;

And He hears me when I pray

Until the last victory is won.
