When you look for perfection, disillusion often follows.

You've built a lovely golden cage,
Then went to find the perfect bride
Hoping that your wit and charm
Would hide the emptiness inside
(But see, I've heard
It is because of you
That many roses grew their thorns)

Indeed, it was not easy - to find
You are an apple with a rotten core
But now your lies and manipulations
All do not matter anymore
(And I won't be your Cinderella
I won't get charmed by your deceit
And lose something of mine)

You've built a lovely golden cage
And went to find the perfect bride
But lost within your own illusions
You've locked yourself inside.

Excellent expression, Dana I find it odd that some people try not to be obvious in their deceit but it sometimes defeats them. This can be compared to the original (father of the lie) Satan, when he deceived Eve and the forbidden fruit turned out to be rotten in its core when they lost this perfection...now he has no escape.

Good writing, makes sense, it happens to many ,,,,they get locked inside, and lose everything.... noone is the perfect bride.

Another young woman's sad story here. if this is not a work of fiction I feel for you. Our daughter endured a similar situation. She still remains wounded; five years down the road. People use each other anymore like plastic spoons and forks and then dispose of them. A sad state of affairs. Very little honor anymore.

You left me thinking that maybe you spent some time in that cage and now you are announcing how you got out.
