Her Name is Pain
She hovers in your memory
Like a vulture seeking prey;
A constant repeat nightmare
That haunts your night and day.
Sure, she’s still breathing
Cause you let her suck your air.
She should have moved along by now
But her legacy’s still there.
Her name is Pain.
She circles you
And won’t release your heart.
Fear is her fame.
It smothers you
And hides you from your own heart.
Hopeless is her game.
Life is here
Daily offering a new start.
A wretched, evil siren;
Like a witch who casts a spell.
I’d like to crack her mirror
And smash her ego well.
I know her power isn’t absolute.
There’s a way to make it right.
Deprive her of her interest.
Let life steal her delight.
I’ll be your night light.
I’ll hold you in the dark.
Find a way to trust me
And I’ll protect your heart.
When you’re ready I’will help you
Call the lie reclaimed
And together we’ll defeat her
And never again fear her name.
Her name is Pain.
She circles you
And won’t release your heart.
Fear is her fame.
It smothers you
And hides you from your own heart.
Hopeless is her game.
Life is here
Daily offering a new start
