I used to be a little angel, but angels don't hurt themselves... do they?

In my life,
I've seen so much.
My eyes have seen evil,
My soul no longer pure.
Innocence is no longer mine,
Stripped from becuase of others.
Violence in my sight,
Anger in the air.
Flashes of it all,
Slowly enter my being.
It consumes me bit by bit,
The angry flames licking my spirit.
Purity and innocence,
How I yearn for them.
I don't want this,
Anger, hate, and violence.
I wish to be happy,
To shed this life.
Be reborn with what I want,
Take my old life back.
I want to live,
I want to be clean.
I want to be an innocent, pure and free spirit.

There's something here that has refreshing and earnest appeal to feelings larger in our lives than the ordinary complaints of mere ego or vanity. This evokes. It compels a response from the reader, willingly or no; anything that achieves that is well undertaken. Keep at it!
