Africa portrayed ... enshrining the mystery of transformation

Let it be a song, Africa

born in the ancient savannah

vast; savage, where grasses ripple

For all to hear

Let it be a melody, Africa

a soft refrain to delight the ear

a tawny landscape dotted with bushes and trees

open grasslands murmuring in the breeze

Let it be a roar, Africa

The prey of the lion is in sight

brave and solitary

His roar punctuates the silvery night

Let it be a heart-beat, Africa

where the hearth, symbol of the home

heals with its flickering light

Throbbing, pulsating, chanting ...

Let it be a dance, Africa

Shamanic healing

Where entwined we stamp, to that rhythm

The cadescence of all believing

Let it be a blessing, Africa

Guilded by a misty haze

The sun is our song

To set Africa ablaze

Thank you John Michael and Regis, I appreciate your comments! I noticed that my Africa poem got scrambled - probably when I added new keywords on my ipad but I've rectified it now.
