A poem I wrote for a good friend of mine. (It's short but it says all it needs to say) Enjoy!

Sometimes I wonder how we made it this far,

How all these years passed by and we still exist.

How growing up didn't mean growing apart.

How you still seem to understand my complicated heart.

Though throughout the years, there have been rough times,

Fighting over little things and beating on each other,

I don't regret my stubbornness or chastise your pride.

I've enjoyed every crazy turn and bump on this so-called ride.

You are my sibling is every sense of the word,

You take me for who am I, even though I'm flawed.

You explain to others who may not understand me,

That I am who I am, take it or leave it be.

Now, sometimes you drive me crazy,

and I sometimes don't understand,

How two people, so different, don't hate each other,

But I guess that what it's like have a big brother.

...somehow the distant closeness...sister and brother...finds all the beating...yet close to the heart...funny that way...it is.
