As you are revealed, the mystery fades.
Can the hidden facts intrigue,
Or the smoky looks tantalize?
Forever is what I hoped for, yesterday is
What I was given. You told me 'I never
Said anything about the future', yet, I
Am held captive by you. Faded memories
Are all that I will be left with. Reality sinks in.
Then, something happens, a ravaging lyric
Locked deep within the soul cries out for
Understanding. Is that you?
Are you ready?
With lingering doubt, I advance upon the situation.
'I never said I was in love with you'. I am stricken.
You'll not hear those words from my lips, nor will
You hear that I am.
In love with you.
Time moves in and out.
The poet lives on.
