For my Mother, Cryssa C.

My greatest features are my eyes

For you see…

I have my Mother’s eyes

And for that I am deeply honored

My Mother’s eyes are faithful,

They’re blue like the ocean,

As constant as the waves of the sea

Majestic like the horizon at dawn

My Mothers eyes are full of charity

They nurture,

They teach,

My Mother’s eyes have unconditional love,

They know no hate,

They are stronger than any controlling bonds of anger or jealousy,

They are full of compassion…

My Mother’s eyes cry

They grieve with loved ones

And weep at others sorrows

When her eyes cry,

Her soul cries too,

For children without a home,

For people who can’t see the truth,

For those struggling down a path leading to darkness

When her eyes cry

So do mine…

My Mother’s eyes laugh

They sparkle like stars in the night

Leading lost ones to safety,

Through the perilous storms of life

Helping them find the light,

My Mother’s eyes are compassionate,

They yearn to wipe away the forgotten tear,

To soothe the pain of an aching heart

And console a suffering child

My Mother’s eyes comfort

They uplift

They encourage

My Mother’s eyes heal

They erase all traces of hurt,

They soften hearts

They wipe away anguish and pain

My Mother’s eyes are full of bliss,

When they look into the eyes of my Father,

They light up with a flame of undying passion

A light which is reflected in my Father’s

Their love can’t be hidden,

It is too strong for that

It is eternal

It will NEVER die

My Mothers eyes are beautiful gems,

They shine like Crystals

They glow from her love within

Never hiding it from the world

My Mothers eyes beam

When she finds the word,

For the perfect line,

To another flawless poem

My mother’s eyes have confidence in me,

They reassure me when I’m uncertain

They support my decisions

They don’t force hers

I know I can do anything

Because every time I look in my mother’s eyes

They say “I Love you!”

………I just wanted to say Thank You and “I Love You Too!!”

This was a surprise to see in my inbox today... I am a little speechless. You made me cry...
Thank you, my sweet Ahna... daughter of my heart, our firstborn. You would make any mother proud, but I am so very grateful and proud to be able to call you mine.

I must disagree with your aunt though...I love your eyes because they are the color of Grandma's, my mom. My eyes have too much gray in them, but hers...and yours... are blue like the summer sky. When I look in your eyes I see my mother and your actions shine like hers did...compassionate, gracious, generous and loving. Thank you for letting her shine through your eyes.

Love,
Mom...
