This is a poem I wrote when I was 14 or 15 and of course looking back on it makes me cringe, but I still appreciate how easily it came to me and the way it flows. It's just a simple ABAB poem and subject of it is pretty self explanatory. This poem can about in result of a breakup.

So many troubles
For such a perfect pair
I'm not such a flexible person
I suffer from wear and tear

I know your eyes don't see
But am I asking too much??
Would it hurt you to comfort?
Would it hurt you to touch?

I'm an open wound
That doesn't seem to heal
You can't blame me
If this doesn't seem real

We should have waited
Not that I regret
But you're just so naive
You weren't ready yet

I love you so dearly
That's why I cry
That's also the reason it hurts me
When you have to ask why

I'd do anything for you
I've been giving my all
Is it enough to keep you forever
Even after I fall?

My strength is growing weak
My heart is giving out
When fighting and why you don't understand
Is all we talk about

A vision in my head
Shows me a life not with you
It's the scariest thought I've ever had
I'm at a loss of what to do

It's appeal is growing stronger
And the doubt is sinking in
Maybe you can't change..
Maybe I just can't win...

My love for you is greater
Than my will to let you go
I'll bring myself to it if I have to
Just to let you know

There's a run in our relationship
And it's getting bigger with time
There's no other way to tell you ways
That you could still be mine

Pain isn't stupid
And it's all over you
Show me more appreciation
For everything I do

The love that you felt at such a young age is beautifully written in this poem. There are parts of this poem that I can still relate to, even at a much older age. The line, "My strength is growing weak
My heart is giving out
When fighting and why you don't understand
Is all we talk about
are such familiar words to me. You have expressed pain and loneliness as a result of the break up. This is a well written poem that I can relate to. Stop in and visit my den sometime, and let me know what you think.

Ah, this line is the most telling of all . . . "Maybe you can't change.." It is age old in its conception . . . Eve making Adam over with the apple. Okay, so that is a story that did or did not happen, but it is used to show continuity about women being attracted to a man because he is who he is, but after the hook has been set comes the "makeover" of this man . . . And usually, if and when, the woman succeeds in making her man over to her desired specifications she no longer respects him and usually considers him weak . . . Just some observations in the continuing battle of the sexes . . .
