Written to the Girl of My Dreams.

I met an angel, the one girl for me
Just as perfect as perfect could be
She made me laugh and I loved her smile
We’d sit and talk for the longest while
I’d talk of love and she’d cry a tear
I knew it wasn't what she wanted to hear
Her life was not as she planned it to be
Yet still she was sharing a friendship with me
I longed for the feeling of her warm soft embrace
I’ll never forget that sad look on her face
She tried hard to hide it, and that’s when I knew
Her sweet loving heart must have broken in two
She’s still the woman my heart’s beating for
Heart without reason or rhyme
She’s still the woman, the girl I adore
But then it was not the right time
The years past by and she moved away
I prayed she was happy each long passing day
I longed for her laughter, and needed so much
To feel her warm smile and her loving touch
A husband, daughter, two boys and a prayer
She was such a strong woman, but at times life’s unfair
Her days were so busy, she knew what to do
Never quit on the blessings God hands down to you
We chanced together a few weeks ago
She was busy with life strings and still on the go
I was hoping that time could somehow make it all right
And I’d love this warmhearted woman tonight
We talked forever about the past couple years
We smiled and we laughed as she held back the tears
She was longing for friendship and she loved me so
And I know now I must let her go
She’s still the woman my heart’s beating for
Heart without reason or rhyme
She’s still the woman, the girl I adore
And again it’s just not the right time
Maybe tomorrow, or someday real soon
We’ll stand together while she hangs the moon
Perhaps our hearts might just bump in the night
And then she’ll be holding me tight
My empty heart has no reason or rhyme
I know now that it’s not the right time
