The challenge of dementia.

DIGNITY OF AGES

Memories trapped
Behind windowless eyes,
Beating feathery wings in stony silence.
No crack
No crevice
No way out.

Hands touch across the dark abyss.
Who?
What?
A flicker of freedom.
It's you
I know!

A solitary tear carves a silvery path
Across parchment skin.
Memories
Remembered,
Yet forgotten.
