Print Save Become a Fan
If love is the willingness to support another’s spiritual growth-
I think I love you.
If love truly bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things
and endures all things-
I know I love myself.
A love unnatural to the reasoning mind,
not the kind that sends chocolates or roses,
but never presupposes those things,
yet lingers anyway.
Call me today, or call me never,
genuine affection still warms my smile at the thought of your name.
If all things happen for a reason,
I really don’t think it was all about what was in my jeans.
Imperfection, desire, longing
often make strange bedfellows-
the thought of you and me like that strange indeed-
once you eliminate the bed and cast away the sheets.
A love so unnatural-
to make one send another beloved a card to spread some light to a heart
darkened by fear, doubt, procrastination-
such a thing is divine, but received in a carnal mind,
the holy inspiration gets lost in thoughts of “Oh my God, does she like me?”
It feels too good to know there is only one love-
too risky when it flows through another living, breathing, searching heart-
Too regrettable to realize I dismissed divine love,
being blind-sided by the package.
