My Hazy Gaze

Nestled in your arms,

My hazy gaze is fixed on you.

You smile at me, I see a tear

And all my gaze is fixed on you.

Nestled in your arms,

I long and crave for you.

To hold me close, and keep me safe

While still my gaze is fixed on you.

Nestled in your arms,

I won’t always long for you.

I’ll change and grow, and make you proud

Though still my gaze will shine on you

No longer nestled in your arms,

Someday I’ll gaze at someone new.

You’ll give me up, and through my tears

My thankful gaze will smile at you

This is a long "awwwww" poem. It is so unique, writing from the perspective of the baby girl. It made me feel awed by its wonderful "hazy gaze." At first I thought it was the Daddy's thoughts, then I realized what you had done. Great work!
