For all those who think they should have someone else but are "loving the one they're with" is a poem for you.

 “Best of Limited Options”

When the one you want is not a choice
You just may turn to the one with the loudest voice
The (second) prettiest eyes
And you convince yourself by telling lies:
            I love his smile
            She’s worth my while
            He’s good for me
            We’re “meant to be”
You turn to a room full of “second selections”
And you have to pick, must have an election
One that reminds you, in many a way
Or one so different it’s like night and day
            She has a beautiful soul
His ambition the world will know
I love running my fingers through her hair
I know that he will always be there
I truly love him, you tell your heart
Everything. The sum of all her parts
Just as good, maybe even better
But your mind only sees stormy weather
            She’ll make a wonderful wife
With him I want to spend my life
I won’t look back with regret
No, his/her love will make me forget
