Her Name
by William Butler
We stand beneath a star filled night,
and the moon shines down upon us.
On a cool eve of autumn,
she holds me and I am warm.
We stand spell bound,
and in all the world there is only she.
We whisper, we touch, we kiss,
and I am in love.
If she leaves me,
I will mourn her passing.
If she forsakes me,
I will know pain and anguish.
But I will hold her in my heart,
and if never I see her again,
always, will I love her,
For I have known her name.
