WHEN CUPID’S ARROW GO ASTRAY
Love is so pure and sweet
When two hearts meet.
Bust when Cupid’s arrows…go astray.
A heart yearns,
It soars…then it burns,
And vanishes away.
Two childhood friends
Grew into handsome young men.
As blood brothers, life carried them along
A friendship…they thought…was fortress strong.
The arrows of Cupid pierce the fortress and it falls;
Leaving a dark cloud hanging over the shattered walls.
The girl…swayed by a yearning gnawing at her soul,
Meets one at the altar and the other…her heart…he holds.
A turmoil of emotions…a sibling laid to rest…her world…rent,
She choose stability…she thought,
Over love…which she knew…was as uncertain as her past
As a falling star streaking across the sky in the night,
Heightens the emotions with its brilliant light;
The mystical enchantment and awe of its sudden journey
With all of its glory… it is but only for a moment…then it is gone,
As is love… when the tiny spark never ignites and becomes full blown.
