Moving on from pet-peeves to leaves!
Flying everywhere from the trees see the leaves
Yellow, Red, Brown!
I see assorted colors here and there in the air
Soaring this way or that a way everywhere
Pick Up A Few!
I bend over to touch the ground around the mound
One, Two, Three!
The leaves feel dry and crisp and make a crackle sound
I want to show my friends the leaves way downtown!
Hey, Joe, Johnny, Jane, Jill!
Look, please be still!
I found three leaves on a little hill.
When, they all got excited and started to feel,
Then, my leaves began to crumble
and I said CHILL CHILL!

Dear Cynthia. I came accross your den and found this lovely and original poem. I like particularly these two lines which express the feeling; "When, they all got excited and started to feel, Then, my leaves began to crumble" Great, Love Emile

| This is great for kids because the visuals are so strong and would come alive with illustrations. I would add another chill at the end though and one less child's name because you have the whole set of three things working for you in the first three stanzas. If you are interested in publishing credits, i do a children's magazine and would love this for the Autumn issue- we only pay in copy (2 copies of the magazine you are in), so if you are interested check out the website address on my page. Great work. Michelle |
