Lies And Satisfaction
by Lara Croft

You show up early
As you've been asked
Then you wait an hour and a half
For something
You're not even sure you need
They stress you out
Then tell you nothing
And you try not to cry
With frustration
You're travelling with someone
Who drives sixty
In a hundred zone
And swears at everyone
As they rush by
On their way to nowhere
While it takes you forever
To get to your own somewhere
And once you're there
You realize you need something
So you make the call
Forcing politeness
Because it just wouldn't be right
To broadside the unsuspecting
With your request
Wouldn't want to seem rude
And all you need
Is a little relaxation
But when it comes down to the wire
There are too many strings
And years worth of unresolved bullshit
You don't have the patience
To untangle yourself
From the emotional baggage
So you think you'll go without
The one thing you've been wanting all along
The one thing that just might
Put things back in perspective
Reducing everything
To the level of the physical
Where everything is about sensation
The only thought is of
Prolonging the bliss
That's when you realize
You'll say anything
To get what you want
Promising whatever it takes
To receive satisfaction
And you float on the breeze
Of fulfillment
With your eyes closed
Because you don't want to have to see
The ecstasy your lies have caused
Knowing that it was only words after all.
