Navy Seal carries God's message.

God was Busy
The Navy Seal had just gotten back
From a grueling tour over in Iraq
He had enrolled in college determined to do his best
Listening to a liberal professor, he wasn’t like the rest
The professor was an atheist, did not know God
Had no need for Him wherever he trod
Just to prove there was no God, he said in a shout
“If you exist God, come down here and knock me out.”
The Navy Seal walked to the front of the room
And with a big roundhouse, he lowered the boom
The professor just lay there out like a light
All his eyes could see was the dead of night
The Navy Seal pulled up a chair and calmly sat down
And waited until the professor came back around
The professor slowly raised himself up from the floor
And sheepishly asked, “Why’d you do that for?”
Well the Navy Seal said, "God is a busy man
Protecting the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan
He’s making sure you are protected too
So you can espouse your biased point of view
God doesn’t have time for fools like you
But He has an alternate plan for what to do
So God sent me to answer your request
Because liberal atheists like you don’t deserve the best."

Excellent my friend, but you forgot to tell the folks about God being a Marine and liking to play chess.
This one goes directly to my library, a keeper, long long time since I read a poem from a no nonsense soldier.
Keeping tabs on you from now on!

PS, bet your wife is a woman of infinite patience! fifty years is a long time to stay put with a sailor! :-)

Dear Marion, Yes God have the time for everyone but not everyone feels him and particularly those who do not believe in Him cannot feel Him. God Bless. Love

Marian, you must be close to the Father of us all to know Him so well. Enjoyed the poem, felt as if I was there.
PS, did you hold him down with a heavy foot?

Hee, hee, hee... I appreciate the humor in this, but also the message that God is watching out for our troops.

Although I've heard a similar tale, years ago, with a Marine doing the slugging - yours is well-rhymed.

Your name reminds me of the old 50's movie "BATTLE-CRY" - remember the quiet character with glasses? Was he a writer? perhaps the author of the book?

"Huxley's Harlots" was the term of endearment for these great Marines.

Thank you for your Service in our proud Navy - also your BETTER-HALF - and CONGRATS on your pending 50th! I only made it to 34 years.

Although I was a "dogface doughboy" Army Reservist, who never saw any action, nor any Carrier duty, I was a member of the XXIII Trans. Corps, trained as COXSWAIN on an LCM - Landing Craft Mechanized - and earned a MOS-560 Seaman, and was stationed on a 176' Freighter for Advanced Training, down at Fort Eustis, VA. and berthed on the James River. This was 1960, when I was just 20.

OH - almost forgot - WELCOME ABOARD, MATEY!

You won't get rich or famous here, but there's a great bunch of authors here, who will support your efforts.

WOW Awesome write, Marion. Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Put that atheist in a foxhole and see if he doesn't call out on God when there's incoming ... you know the old saying, "There are no atheists in foxholes."
