Weeping Willow

Gracious sanctuary,
A shimmering pendant
By the pond,
Swaying in the breeze,
Arms arching
Laden by sorrow,
Comfort for my loneliness

Light bursts in shards
Of brightness
Soaking my skin
And silence falls upon me
In lonesome thoughts,
Tear shaped leaves
Wiping my eyes

In lost memories
I see hidden
Among the branches
A young girl crying
In twilight, when
The air is still,
A place where
She would sing songs
Of melodic wonders
And build dreams

Silky touch sweeps
Across my face and
Find myself again
Dancing with the teardrops
Before the sunset fades,
In sorrow I see
Naked and bereft tendrils,
Empty branches like
Barren eyes,
Tangled in a maze
Of storm

My soul is washed in green
And dewdrops shine
On wet lashes,
The willow is waving
In the rhythms of sad
And mournful wind song,
Crying in a hushed voice
Heard only by
A weeping heart
