REMORSE

Share   Print  Save   Become a Fan


The well has now run dry
the farmhouse no longer stands;
The barn that father built
a white owl now commands.
Children are all grown and gone
the land lays cold and bare;
Each night, as I close my eyes
my heart...takes me there.
Who holds the key to shattered dreams
and the promises left unkept;
Alas ! the rose did open its bloom
the young man finally wept...

Sometimes we do things that have caused pain and then find out its too late to change the hands of time...

Sometimes I read something that touches me so deep.. I don't know what to say to the author. This is just one such occasion. 10+ for such an excellent, thought provoking write.
