All You Need To Know
She was coming out the door with her suitcase,
Tonight, when I got home from the bar.
She didn’t even stop to look my way,
just walked over, and put it in the car.
Then she went back in to get her jacket and keys,
and when I asked her where she was going,
she turned around and looked at me;
CHORUS: “I’m going as far away from you as I can get,
I’m tired of living with regret;
I may head down to Dallas,
or up to Tupelo,
But Darlin’, that’s all you need to know.”
She must have seen by my reaction,
that I didn’t understand;
that’s when she walked over,
and put a letter in my hand.
She said “now you can read this,
whenever you get the time,
but I’m not waiting around,
and wasting anymore of mine”.
Then she said,
Well, when I read those words,
my heart fell to the floor;
She said I threw our love away,
and she wouldn’t be coming home no more.
and she said,
Yah, she said that’s all I need to know.
