Hand-in-hand, we trod along
This filthy road of injustice.
Together, we reach OUR room,
And wipe our feet at the door...

OUR room is clean, warm with compassion;
We feel each other's pain,
Cry for one another...
And support each other.

We, who have been stripped
Of our dignity,
Our integrity...
Our future...share our pain.

Sinister shadows lurk
In the corners of OUR room,
Waiting to darken our hearts...
Wanting to tear us apart.

But we see them hiding there
And know we need not fear,
For our hearts have joined as one...
They have no power here!

Our fragile windows shake
As the Beast of Family Demise
Patrols the street outside...
But His power will subside.

For in OUR room,
We gather strength
To fight the ugly beast
Who has torn our lives apart!

Those in OUR room know
That his power cannot grow,
For he's chewed into our hearts
And swallowed our families...

He shattered our dreams
And destroyed once happy lives,
His claws snatched our precious children,
As he shouted dirty, filthy lies.

He heard our cries to stop,
But just growled in evil laughter!
As our children screamed in fear,
He shoved them in his mouth.

Now we watch him from OUR windows,
And sadly shake our heads
In disgust and disbelief...
As he roams deserted streets.

A parent knocks upon OUR door,
And sobs, "The beast took my kids!"
We take the parent's hand,
And offer love...WE UNDERSTAND!
