a poem about the computer.

 Cyan Cyanide

The backlit beast

draws me toward it.

Promises of gold,

jewelry, cars, fame.

The hum, drumming

of the systems

circuitry singing.

Dragon with its

spiders silk, spinning.

I walk the eggshell

floor, twist my fingers

not to touch the new

synthetic ivories.

Heart beating faster

when I’m on its

side of the room.

Suckered, I

journey into it.

And sit at the ripe

edge of abyss.

Blown out candle

in my lap. And

my mind inside

this blissful blight.
