The sands of time

slip quickly by

Nothing more than a blur

they are quickly gone

I reach out to grasp

just a handful of sand

to keep just a little bit

here with me

But ever so quickly

it slips through my fingers

I slowly come to realize

the sands of time

are not mine hold
