A wife’s sorrow

This is a poem exploring Claire’s feelings and emotions as her husband recovers from his accident. The full story can be found in, A Question of Faith: Rob and Claire’s story.

My husband has gone away, To be replaced by a stranger within a day. I feel my world has turned upside down, Since I heard the news in town. It all happened so fast, And now Mary’s life has past. I struggle to contain my tears, Shielding Sam from my fears. The sorrow I feel is so acute, The force of which keeps me mute. But now Rob is home at last, I pray there is a chance. In desperation I turn to a friend, To assist on getting rob on the mend. The idea was therapy in writing, However Rob remains fighting. Rob remains closed off from me, And it is so hard to make him see, How much he has hurt Sam, And appears not to give a damn. I feel for him but he makes me mad, He is throwing away all we had. I cry out to the Lord in rage, Frustrated as Rob struggles to write a page. Will we ever be the same again? Will Rob ever find comfort by his pen?

How well you expressess your anguish and uncertainty now that life seems to have changed so drastically. Sometimes only time itself can heal the wounds, both physically and emotionally....

Be always safe,
